What a fantastic year it’s been out here in our neighbourhood!
We at the Papanui Innes Community Board and Council want to thank you all for another amazing year with our one-of-a-kind community!
This year’s wins have highlighted the importance of a strong community.
Our amazing volunteers have done some incredible work, including the Edgeware Village Beautification Project.
The work done by the volunteers at the Matariki Dawn Planting Day and the Ouruhia Reserve planting event was amazing.
We celebrated our green thumbed neighbours at the Great Seed and Plant Swap at Papanui Library and at the Edible Garden Awards.
We are so grateful for all of your support in the community, and we cannot wait to see what 2019 brings for us.

My grandson managed to open the gate and walk onto the Woodend road, he is 18 months old, chaos reigned while we rushed out , many cars were around. Visiting friends and people from stopped cars helped us stop traffic and retrieve him safely. The car, parked outside 9 Woodend road was our friends car and we saw it then drive off with the rest of the traffic. It drove towards Rangiora. No one had keys to their cars so could not chase it.
