Stuff is writing a story about teachers buying essentials for students in need. There's the stuff you'd expect, like food and pens, but then some have bought clothes for a whole family whose house had burnt down, paid for car repairs and donated furniture etc. Has your family or a family you know been helped out by a school, perhaps in a time of crisis? Email education reporter josephine.franks@stuff.co.nz if you'd be willing to share your story. Jos would love to hear from you. [NB: Please put NFP in your post if it is not for publication.]

But actually a neat and tidy green lawn is a food desert for pollinators, and leaving grass unmown and letting so-called weeds like clover and dandelion flower provides food for bees and helps support biodiversity. Would you be happy if your local authority let the grass in your local parks grow long and allowed weeds to flourish?

Remember the old days of basement and garage bands? How you would count the minutes at school to get creative with your friends until your parent had to beg you to come inside for dinner?

A small area (pooks reserve) that looked pretty clean at a first glance had about 6 bags of rubbish and 2 massive rubbish dumps, that I reported to the council. It is very disturbing how polluted the area was, but it is also amazing to know that there are people who deeply care to make it better:)
We also cleaned a bit of the roadside, hence extra bags. So once again, thank you to all who came and come to join us this Sunday:) as always, if you see extra dirty streets, let me know:)
Also a huge thank you to the Auckland Council! Those guys came and picked up all of the rubbish we picked up from my house! What a great support!
