Hi neighbours. Stuff is writing a story about teachers buying essentials for students in need. There's the stuff you'd expect, like food and pens, but then some have bought clothes for a whole family whose house had burnt down, paid for car repairs and donated furniture etc. Has your family or a family you know been helped out by a school, perhaps in a time of crisis? Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
