Chelsea Estate Heritage Park track and bridge open!

John Gillon from

The new track and bridge from Colonial Rd to Chelsea Sugar over Pond 3 is now open!
This track replaces the path that was affected by a slip in 2017, and realigns the bridge, providing a safer route than walking along the road.

Other projects coming soon:
* A new forest track between the dog park area and Rawene Road - currently fenced off,
* Upgraded track from Onetaunga Rd to the old Manager's House,
* Carpark improvements to the "gravel pit" and to the small park near the dog park area,
* New bollards along Colonial Road to protect the grass areas.

Funded by the Kaipātiki Local Board.

Help Needed: Peat, Straw, and Moisture Control for Tiger Worms in Castor Bay

Diana from Castor Bay

Hello, neighbors! I’m in Castor Bay and currently caring for my tiger worms. I’ve encountered some moisture issues and am looking for materials like peat, straw, or anything that can help with moisture absorption. I’d also appreciate any advice on preventing clogging in the drainage pipe to ensure proper drainage. If anyone has extra peat, straw, or can share some helpful tips, I’d be really grateful! Thank you so much for your support, especially during the holiday season
Best wishes,
Diana
