Nelson's bi-cultural Christmas parade has caused a stir and some confusion among Santa's young fans. The traditional white-bearded, jolly man was replaced in the parade by a Māori man representing Santa Claus. Read the full story here.

Although many people were for the idea, some parents felt "blindsided" that they weren't forewarned that Hana Kōkō would be stepping in for Santa Claus. The parade's organisers have since apologised.

So we want to know your view on this topic. Are you in support of modernising Christmas, or do you prefer a traditional Santa? Take part in our poll below!

Every year, summer means an influx of Kiwis to beaches, rivers and campgrounds all over Aotearoa. Kiwis love summer – it’s in our DNA – but if we’re honest, we’re not always very good at it. Stay safe with a few tips from Westpac:

- Don’t turn your back to the waves.
- Always take your lifejacket.
- Tell someone when you’ll be back.
- Don’t drive when you are tired.

And remember if you stray too far, the Choppers can help. In the last 12 months, Auckland’s Westpac Rescue Helicopter flew 962 missions keeping Kiwis safe.

Stay safe in Chopper Country.

I am sitting here typing this while I am absolutely FUMING!!!!
I would like to know what gives anyone the right to steal from me or from my garden?
How dare you come around to take some free clippings I offered you and then while you were here (in my absence) you decided to steal somethings from my garden - HOW FRIGGEN DARE YOU!!!!
I know EXACTLY who you are and you name will be passed on to the appropriate people.
I have never in all the time that I have been giving free garden items, had anything stolen, everyone was so happy & so grateful. In most cases, they left with extra items.
If you desperately wanted something, all you had to do was ask. I would've given it to you.
I open my heart & my garden because so many people helped me and I want to share the love to everyone around here.
This had now made me even more weary of people and trust even less - AGAIN!
It is only because of that stupid clause called the privacy act, that I am not naming and shaming you here.
You will never ever get anything from me again - NEVER!!
