Poll: Should fireworks be banned?

Caryn Wilkinson Reporter from Community News

Auckland skies will soon be alight with fireworks displays.

With Guy Fawkes looming, the event sparks ongoing debate over the use of fireworks.

Auckland Council and a range of national organisations have renewed calls to ban the private use and sale of fireworks after a parliamentary select committee decided in August to leave regulations unchanged.

Some people will be celebrating Guy Fawkes Day, held to commemorate the failure of the Gunpowder Plot in 1605.

Hi everyone,
We'd be keen to hear about your favourite foodie finds on your travels through NZ. Have you come across a particularly amazing cafe, bakery restaurant or food truck? Had an especially delicious pie, burger, sandwich, smoothie bowl or cronut? Been to what must be one of the country's best fish and chip joints? Or been pleasantly surprised by a town's food scene? Please share the details below and include 'NFP' (not for publication) in your comment if you don't want it included in an article. Cheers.

Favourite summer holiday spots

Lorna Thornber Reporter from Stuff Travel

Hi everyone,
We'd be keen to hear about your favourite summer holiday spots in NZ. Is there somewhere you keep returning to year after year and, if so, what are the main attractions? What makes it such a stand-out spot? Any tips you may be able to offer on the best things to see and do there - as well as the best places to grab a drink or bite to eat - would be much appreciated. Please put 'NFP' (not for publication) in your comment if you don't want it to appear in a travel article. Thanks again.

recurrent gate repairs as TRILECT CANT fix it

Kaiwan from St Heliers

I have had recurrent problems with TRILECT automation for years. They 1st fit a chinese motor which their own techs said should not have been put in the 1st place.
Then after it got bust AMI paid for the new one which was too slow as per their own Tech guys. The gate has been stopping randomly since the last few months and we have got them to fix it and the next tech guy will blame the previous tech guy and the saga goes on. Has anyone else had this issue with Trilect or is it just me. The are charging me for each visit and it is very frustrating to see the gate stuck every few weeks. I cant trust TRILECT anymore as their own tech guys used to bad mouth the company . now the new guys are critising the old tech guys. Dont know who to believe. Now, I need to get someone else to check what is really wrong with this gate/motor. does anyone know any trustworthy gate automation company????
