Farewell Maree McDermott
It is with heavy hearts that we let you know that Maree McDermott passed away on February 19th, surrounded by family and friends. We know that Maree was beloved by the local community so we're trying to let as many people know as we can! A celebration of Maree's life will be held at All Saints Chapel, Purewa Cemetery and Crematorium, 100 Saint Johns Road, Meadowbank, on Tuesday 25 February 2025 at 12 noon. We will gather at 11:30 before her service. Please wear bright colours like our Queen of Style Maree.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
