Ponsonby Park - Emergency Budget Consultation

Jennifer from Ponsonby

Due to the impact of Covid-19 on Council finances, we once again need your help and support for Ponsonby Park, the civic space at 254 Ponsonby Road, please.

Auckland Council is currently running a short consultation on an ‘Emergency Budget’. We respectfully request that you make a submission and specifically state your support for Ponsonby Park. It’s easy to do by following the link and guidelines below. You can of course add any other areas of concern to your submission.

Please take a few minutes to provide feedback.

• To begin, please use the below link:

engage.ubiquity.co.nz...

• All questions are optional, so you may complete Questions 1-3 if you have an opinion, or otherwise:

• Scroll directly down to Question 4: Other feedback – What is important to you?

You can make your own statement about Ponsonby Park, or use the information provided below:

Money spent by Auckland Council is a major part of our local economy, so any projects or services deferred or cut, or amenities closed, equate to more Aucklanders losing their jobs. Austerity is not the answer.

Auckland Council needs to continue with the design and planning for the ‘One Local Initiative’ projects.

Ponsonby Park is the Waitematā Local Board’s ‘One Local Initiative’ project and although likely to be delayed, it must continue to progress through the design & planning stage.

(NB The proposed 3.5% rates rise equates to 47 cents per household a week and also includes a $65 million package to cover rates bill deferrals for those in financial hardship.)

• Then Press Next.

You will need to provide some personal details, but these will not appear on any reporting of feedback. The demographic questions are all optional.

Thank you for supporting Ponsonby Park. By filling in the council consultation submission, you will help keep Ponsonby Park on the council agenda. Please also encourage anyone you know who values Ponsonby Park to do the same. This consultation closes at midnight on June 19th.

For more information, please contact us via the 254ponsonbyrd.org.nz website.

Thank you again,

The volunteer Community-Led Design team
