I Wore My Clothes Outside Today
Piled high in my wardrobe were clothes that needed to be seen
To be carried upon the shoulder
Slung low below the hip
Tied around the waist
Tasselled sleeves hanging from fringed leather
Flapper dresses swinging in the wind
Belts with bullet holes for fastening
Neon tops to light the way
Stilettos with heels so high
Boots bound with thick leather laces
Steel capped boots without a nick
Snakeskin knee high leg huggers
These clothes need to see the light
Shake off the dust
Let the flares fan like reptiles
Cover the muse with articulated grace
Yes, I will wear my clothes outside today
And encourage conversation about their cloth
Not worry about the mis and the match
As all thread counts
