I hope you are enjoying summer, beaches and ocean.
In a time when we are not able to travel or host here international performers, there is the best chance to explore our beautiful country and to know the talented New Zealand singers.
Let me please introduce my friend. Her name is Marina Bloom.
She is a Russian born singer-songwriter living in New Zealand. Marina developed a love for traditional Russian music alongside Western pop music and credits Celine Dion and Fleetwood Mac as her early influence.
But not only. A lawyer and business analyst who’s also devoted to human rights activism; she organises flash mobs with dance enthusiasts; expounds the benefits of raw food, and performs amazing songs.
Marina’s steadfast approach to creating soulful tunes has led to national radio interviews, international awards, a viral music video in 2016 with her silky pop ballad, ‘Heroes’– and to top it all off, her 2018 track ‘This Feeling’ (ft. mPHATic) hit the #1 position on the New Zealand iTunes Dance chart beating Bruno Mars to the punch.
Marina has written over 70 songs, formed a band and started performing in New Zealand.
She sings in two languages –English and Russian– and her diverse albums reflect that.
Described as ‘World Melodic Pop’, her music is a broad mix of pop, country and soft rock but also incorporates elements of world music.
Her latest album topped the NZ albums top 20 charts in January 2020, which she supported with the tour of New Zealand before the lockdown.
The 4th of February in The Tuning Fork with her new exciting visual show "Open your soul" Marina Bloom will unveil the new songs and will perform a few crowd’s favourites from her previous albums. The evening packed with award-winning music from this singer-songwriter is bound to entertain and tantalise your senses.
Performing with her band Marina Bloom is presenting her brand new album and playing the crowds' favourites from her previous chart-topping albums.

Akoranga, Smales Farm and Constellation bus stations on Auckland's North Shore and Panmure train station have boosted bike parking to 80 spaces.
New shelters have been installed allowing cyclists to store their bikes inside or under cover.
Dedicated motorcycle parks in the park and ride area are now available at Akoranga, Smales Farm and Constellation bus stations.
Rachel Freebairn, AT Metro's head of facilities, said demand for bike parking had certainly increased.
"More and more people are choosing to ride a bike to connect with bus or train travel which has meant there has been a shortage of suitable parking at some bus and train stations."
Freebairn said the roll out is part of AT's ongoing programme to improve cycling facilities across public transport hubs.
Bike Auckland chairwoman Barb Cuthbert said she was delighted by the increased parking along the Northern Express Busway and the bike shelters.
More people were using e-bikes to cope with hilly North Shore roads and wanted extra security at the bike parks, Cuthbert said.
The upgrade will ease pressure on car parking, she said.
Do you bike to public transport stations and ride to work?
Do you plan to use the facilities more often thanks to the boost in bike parks?

The great kiwi deck, every home should have one. But there's a decking debate raging in DIY and Reno circles: Should the grooves go up or down?
We think we've settled the argument here.
