While they land up eventually in the landfill, which itself causes no adverse environmental effect, I still see bags ripped by birds, dogs, cats etc. This means the contents is sprawled across the street before the truck even arrives. A lot of that rubbish, including plastic, is then washed down the stormwater and into the sea, before the truck arrives. We have better alternatives like wheelie bins, so I encourage you to think further than the cheapest option for your pocket. Think of the best option for us all. Thanks

Auckland Harbour Bridge shows substantial traffic growth 2016 to 2018 of 10%. Holding out to delay the Additional Waitemata Harbour Crossing can't go on forever. The Western Ring Route does not seem to have had the impact that was envisaged.

Looks like what North Shore residents are saying about another crossing and huge pressures on the current bridge are real. Auckland Harbour Bridge is the link between the Auckland Central Business area and the North Harbour region.

Many people setting up paddling pools for their children this summer will be breaking the law - are you one of them?
Any pool, fixed or portable, deeper than 400mm is now subject to safety provisions under the Building Act, meaning there a quite a few rules you probably aren't even aware of.
For example, do you have a 1.2-metre fixed childproof fence with a self-closing gate opening outwards?
What are your thoughts on paddling pool safety? If faced with an inspection, would your pool set-up pass? Do you think all these rules are essential? What are your tips for setting up a paddling pool safely?
