Dumped Building Rubbish - Shelly Beach Rd
A load of building and domestic waste has been dumped on the footpath outside 83 Shelly Beach Rd. Male, believed to be in a grey Audi station wagon was seen unloading rubbish bags. Unfortunately, no rego taken. Council have been very slow in responding, despite logging the dumping as "Critical," saying it would be collected in 1 -2 hours. They have now tagged it as "Under Investigation" but say it could be up to 5 days before it is removed. So much for their claims of taking strong and swift action against illegal dumpers. Beware, this dumper may well strike again.
Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
