DIWALI
With Diwali celebrations underway our children had the opportunity today to paint some Diwali clay candle holders or diyas as part of our Diwali festivities. They thoroughly enjoyed this creative activity.
Diwali is a spiritual celebration symbolising the ‘victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance’. Many Indian people all over the world come together in celebrating with their loved ones, as well as sharing this occasion with the people that have become their neighbours. There will be several big celebrations in Auckland this weekend, so do make a day of it and enjoy the colours, the food, the dancing, and the music.
