Please! be Responsible with Fireworks
Tonight, idiots in Fitzroy Street, Papatoetoe held fireworks in their hand right outside their door pointing them at neighbours houses across the road, one landing on our garage, another between our wooden cape cod chair and garage, another on two neighbours rooves and garage. Years ago, I witnessed a neighbour's garage burn to the ground. The embers remained live for 3 days. In the garage was his 30 year old signwriting business, 3 classic cars, melted paint on his car and it almost set his house and our cars on fire. Gas tanks exploding, paint cans. I saw this poor man sitting amongst the debris sobbing the next morning. Fire Chief determined cause as a firework embering on the back porch of his garage. So please think about how your actions can affect others. Fireworks terrify wildlife and pets. I can't wait for a ban on public use. They can go off any day of the year without warning our pets. How are people allowed to stockpile them (in their home) maybe next door to you. Where is the safety enforcement around that? 10.30pm is the cut-off, not midnight, 1am, 3am. Authorities can't police it, therefore ban them. Oh to have money to burn💸

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
