Special Message From Don Allan
Hi, this is a message from Don in regards to the latest crime alert photos. I have deleted the post as requested.
Colleen
Hi All,
Yesterday afternoon I posted a wanted alert out for two people at an address in Onehunga seen unlawfully on a property.
I have identified the Male and Female pictured in the images and after speaking to them can confirm that they are of no interest to Police and that their behaviour was innocent and are in fact upstanding residents in our community
The number plate that appeared to have been altered was a result of a rust and dirt which along with initial information appeared very suspicious.
I would like to apologise for any unnecessary stress of concern caused to the couple posted and also thank them for bringing this to my attention as soon as possible.
I would also ask for this image to be removed from the Onehunga Neighbourly post as soon as possible to avoid any unnecessary bias towards the people posted.
Thank you to members of my Community Watch Network for the support you provide the Police with your nominations.
With your support we have been provided over 300 positive nominations for people posted in these images of whom many were engaged in criminal activity.
If your image does appear in any of my posts and you believe that you may have been identified in error please contact me immediately.
Please remember that all people posted are not guilty of any crime, but are required to be spoken to, to assist with police enquiries.
Kind regards
Don
Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
