The Team Reporter from Stuff

The Government has thrown $124 million at reducing the country’s growing waste pile, but not everyone agrees that’s enough.

Local Government NZ says the funding should be matched with a “strategic waste plan”, with the goal for New Zealand to be able to process its own waste onshore.

In the last decade, the amount of waste at council landfills has increased by 48 per cent.

Coronavirus: Auckland remaining at alert level 3 until August 26

The Team Reporter from Auckland Stuff

Hi neighbours,

Have you heard the news? Auckland will remain in level 3, while the rest of the country will remain at level 2 until midnight Wednesday, August 26 – an additional 12 days.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said the approach is “short, but precautionary”. Extending the restrictions for an additional 12 days is the same length of the virus’ incubation period, director-general of health Dr Ashley Bloomfield said.

Ladies and gents, we need to put a stop to this. Now.

Sure, no one likes a snitch but for God's sake, these selfish idiots are putting our whole way of life at risk for the sake of their own pleasure. It's unbelievable.
I personally wouldn't shed a tear if the NZDF turned up and started cuffing these people with zip ties before carting them away to holding facilities for forced testing. Desperate times often call for desperate measures and this callous disregard for the welfare of fellow Kiwi's is making my skin crawl.

Are you disappointed Pakuranga College was incorrectly connected to a coronavirus case?

Kendall Hutt Reporter from Eastern Courier

Hi neighbours. Pakuranga College principal Michael Williams was “furious” with the Ministry of Health for incorrectly claiming a coronavirus case had been linked to the school in the 1pm presser. Are you disappointed? Do you feel the ministry's apology at 3pm came too late?
