Here’s what you need to know about parks
You can still enjoy a walk, run or bike through your local park but please note the following:
✅Our parks are open, but you must maintain a safe two-metre distance.
✅Walk-in access to regional parks is allowed. Vehicle gates are closed.
❌ Stay local and do not drive to a park or beach outside your local area.
❌ Park playgrounds and exercise equipment are closed to the general public.
❌ Please do not use the basketball courts or sports fields.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
