BEWARE: are you looking to buy a car - avoid Wheels on Wairau

Carol from Grey Lynn

BEWARE: The overall experience was stressful, and frankly appalling customer service from the owner himself. if you want to buy a car...look elsewhere. After an AA inspection, the owner Graeme was unwilling to honour the promise of new tyres for the car I had put a deposit down on when the report showed he had indeed put used tyres on the vehicle and these were not alighned as is standard practice. This was after not having the vehicle ready for inspection despite four days notice, also with no WOF. He then refused to put new tyres on the car because he did not believe they were needed or that the sales rep should have made the offer. When I tried to explain this was the verbal agreement, I was cut off and told “don’t buy the car. I’m not selling it. I can unwind a contract whenever I want.” I found his behaviour arrogant, offensive and unprofessional. His manner of conduct as a business owner is shocking in its lack of integrity. Very stressful experience. In the end I proceeded after holding firm on the tyres and plan to pay for a second AA recheck inspection to ensure the work I have been told has been done is verified to give me peace of mind. Very stressful experience, and Graham if you’re reading this, not cool to hang up on customers because you don’t like having to honor your agreements. It is only thanks to Arthur that this sale may go through. But I would not bu6 a car from here again and will tell people looking (I work in this area) to avoid the dealership.
