Low Carbon Future? Meet the candidates

Cathy McIntosh from Waitematā Local Board

TOMORROW NIGHT: Come along and hear what the election candidates have to say about Low Carbon policies.
Candidates attending include:
- Helen White - Labour
- Julie Anne Genter MP- Green Party
- Cinnamon Whitlock - Maori Party
- Julian Paul - NZ First
- David Hay - TOP
- Stephen Greenfield - Conservative Party

The Waitematā Low Carbon Network invites you to their “A Low Carbon Future? – Meet the Candidates” event. We're inviting political parties to come and talk about their respective Low Carbon policies and speak to the extent to which they are prioritising and responding to the challenge of climate change.

The conversation will be facilitated by Rod Oram, a New Zealand journalist writing on corporate, economic and political issues. We will also have Generation Zero and Pippa Coom from the Waitemata Local Board speaking on the night.

The Waitematā Low Carbon Network has been set up to celebrate, profile and support the establishment of a Low Carbon Future for Auckland by bringing together organisations, businesses and individuals to work together to reduce carbon and build energy resilience across Waitematā.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
