Hi All !!!! :)

I am Nipuni Wimalasena, a PhD student at the University of Auckland.

I would like to invite you to participate in an online "Healthy Homes" survey. New Zealand’s existing housing stock is subject to rapid ageing and deterioration due to a low replacement rate and a lack of maintenance. Poor housing conditions likely pose potential harm to the health of household occupants. Each year more than 20 children in New Zealand are died by respiratory diseases such as asthma, wheeze, pneumonia and bronchiolitis, which are linked to unhealthy housing.

This survey gathers your knowledge about the property you live in, as well as your perspective about how housing-related factors may cause medical/health problems of you and your family. The survey is being conducted by a research group at the University of Auckland to understand how we can develop housing solutions and alternatives to those health-related issues.

We are seeking for Aucklanders to participate in this anonymous survey and appreciate your kind support and participation. This will take 15 minutes of your time. Your response will be confidential and anonymous. The survey is approved by the University of Auckland Human Participation Committee with reference number 021180.

Your participation in the study is highly valued. Thank you for your attention and time.

Due to large numbers of “Out of Zone” enrolments for 2020 we regrettably will need to hold a ballot.

There are 140 places available for Out of Zone students in 2020. This may vary slightly when all In-Zone applicants are finalised for 2020. Siblings of current students and siblings of former students have enrolment priority as per Ministry regulations and will be deducted from places available before going to the ballot.

The ballot will be drawn under Police supervision on Tuesday 15 October 2019.

Notification of ballot results will be sent by mail and email within 5 working days after the October 15 ballot.

Unsuccessful applicants will have an indication of their order of placement on the waiting list.

If parents of successful applicants decline to accept the places offered, or fail to respond before Friday 1 November 2019, the Board must offer the vacant places to unsuccessful applicants in the order in which their names are recorded on the waiting list.
