Our littlest people need your help. Poverty doesn’t start at 5, but until now there’s been no nationwide programme to help preschoolers who are hungry and cold.
KidsCan is changing that. They’re delivering raincoats, shoes and five fresh meals a week to 25 early childhood centres. Attendance is up, and the children are happier and more settled.
"Everyone has the same meal so children don't feel like they have less," Manaia View Kindergarten teacher Kathy Belz says. "It's upholding everyone's mana.”
40 more centres are waiting for help. KidsCan, Stuff and Neighbourly have partnered up to raise enough money to support 1000 more children - and we need 400 more generous Kiwis to hold little hands. To support a child, sign up at KidsCan.org.nz

I’m not too sure it’s it is the right place to advertise this. I am a social worker working with family in high needs. I am working with a family With 4 boys Who are passionate about basketball. The boys have asked me if I could get them a basketball hoop to put in the house. The children have not much so sport is a good way for them to be occupied . And it is good for them as exercise work on your physical and mental wellbeing . So if you have one in the back of the garage that you do not use any more, I would be more than happy to come and get it. If it is not appropriate I’m happy to remove the comment 😊

Playing contact sports without a mouth guard has been likened to rally driving without a seat belt! A simple injury can leave you with a gap in your smile. A mouthguard is a protective device that prevents injury to the teeth, lips and gums.

But not all mouthguards are created equal, and a store bought mouthguard will never give you the protection of a custom designed mouthguard.

Why is a custom mouth guard necessary?
Store bought mouthguards don’t encase the teeth or cover the back molars. They tend not to fit very well, lose their shape, fall out in the middle of activity, and often have to be replaced. They can also make breathing and talking difficult, and feel bulky in the mouth.
