A little bit about me...

Dick from Auckland Central

Hi, my name is Dick and I am an 83-year-old living with my 85-year-old wife Barbara and Hobson Street apartment. We have lived there for over 20 years. My wife Barbara still works full-time so I devote much of my time to drinking coffee and a having conversations with strangers should they respond.
I am an approved visitor For Age Concern and visit my client once a week out at Glendene.
I make every effort to keep up with modern technology, I drive a BEV and keep abreast with PC and iPhone technology where possible.

Apart from that I do a small amount of bookkeeping and a lot of reading (non-fiction). Enjoy checking out many aspects of what’s going on in our society.
As for neighbours it’s very difficult in an apartment building such as ours to get to know many neighbours as the main source of contact is a brief trip in the lift.

Poll: Have you ever been bullied?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

People associate bullying with children in schools, but it can actually stretch beyond childhood to workplaces or neighbourhoods.

This Friday is Pink Shirt Day, which began in Canada in 2007 when two students took a stand against homophobic bullying after a new student was harassed for wearing pink. People across the globe are now encouraged to wear pink on this day to take a stand against bullying and promote inclusivity.

Have you or your whānau ever experienced bullying? Share your thoughts on Pink Shirt Day below.

Type 'Not For Print' if you wish your comments to be excluded from the Conversations column of your local paper.
