Fun and meaningful part time work
• Do you love to help people learn and grow?
• Afternoon work in Mt Eden 3-7pm
• 3 days flexible between Monday and Friday
We are looking for someone to work 3 days across the week (Mon – Fri) supporting a man in his early 20’s with Down Syndrome. Days will change each week depending on mums shifts so flexibility is important.
You will be a peer support for this young man. He needs someone to help him with his afternoon (3-7pm) routine. As a diabetic he will need support to test himself each day and give his insulin. If you know how to do this then great, if not then mum will teach you. Afternoons start by picking him up from his programme and going home, prepare afternoon tea and then do some fun activities. Things like going to the gym, going for a swim, bowling or a walk.
This easy going young man would love someone fun, chatty to hang out with and have a sense of humour. Pop music, food and sport are some of the things he loves to talk about. Someone who can have a laugh whilst being a great support developing his self-management skills. A car and full licence are essential for this role.

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
