Term 4 After School Art Classes
Starting October 18: Budding artists with Eris Newson. These classes are designed for young artists aged 5 to 9. Each week, students get to have a go at working with a new medium, style, or technique. From watercolour bookmarks to cave paintings, they’ll do it all!
From October 20: Future Masters with Cheryl O’Brien. In a series of workshops for 10- to 14-year-olds, Cheryl empowers her students to find their creative voices. As well as developing new techniques, students will learn about different artistic genres, famous artists, and respond to them by creating unique artworks in a style all their own.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
