Open Now: Our Rural Environs

The Feilding & District Art Society

This week at Feilding Art Centre, reflect on the beauty of our rural landscape in this exhibition of oil and acrylic paintings by popular Manawatu artist, Graham Christensen.

The works included in this exhibition are a meditation on the moments of peace and beauty that shape rural life - calves chewing their cud on a sunny afternoon, the contrast of light and the shadows along the fern-lined bank of a meandering stream, a friendly conversation being held between farmers at the local sock yards.

Entry is free, and all works are for sale - including one painting which is being sold to raise funds for Manawatu Rural Support.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
