Can you spare a couple of hours per week strengthening our Upper Hutt community? The Red Cross Upper Hutt Branch is in need of volunteers drivers for our Meals on Wheels service where we bring dinner to seniors from Upper Hutt. If interested, please call our office at 528-9162 or at 02102701027 (Monday to Friday from10:00 am to 1:00 pm.) and ask for De'Anne Jackson. Join the largest humanitarian organization in the world that has been working for the past 90 years in our Upper Hutt Community and have a most rewarding enjoyable experience with this group of fantastic volunteers.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
