Crepuscular Rays

Robert Neighbourly Lead from Browns Bay

Another beautiful sunrise featuring crepuscular rays (aka "God rays"). The rays appear to be diverging from the Sun. The divergence is just a visual illusion caused by linear perspective - they are (almost) parallel coming from 148.49 million kilometers away).

crepusculum [krɛˈpus.ku.lum] - twilight in Latin

Taken from Browns Bay and Rothesay Bay beach, between 7-8 am.
