Garden Art from Recyled Metals
Upper Hutt artist, Bruce Winter, is exhibiting his funky art at Artspace Gallery on the Petone foreshore together with paintings by Stephanie Crisp. Bruce creates amazing sculptures out of recycled materials and over the last 20 years, Bruce has developed his amazing 3D art style, often incorporating his stone sculpture skills together with mixed media constructions, combining wood, stone and metal. He often makes use of recycled materials to create something new and likes to utilize the inherent emotion of materials that have been etched, worn and or corroded and incorporates them into exciting new works that evoke a mixture of nostalgia and curiosity.
Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
