The temperature has dropped and we are getting some showers but the drought is far from over, according to the Northland Regional Council. From January 2019, Northland has had 1000mm less rain than normal, and water restrictions are still in place across the Far North (Okaihau is the only place where hoses can be used). What are your best water-saving tips now that we are approaching winter?

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
