The "Whare Ora" housing scheme, run by trust Chief Executive Ricky Houghton, makes use of "recycled" homes, aiming to get whānau off the street. The waiting list for state housing has tripled since 2014, and 150 families and individuals are on the waiting list.

What are your thoughts? Is it time to declare a housing state of emergency in the Far North?

5 bedrooms plus rumpus room and attached double garage with internal access this family lifestyle property is no ordinary home. Set on 8235m2 the grounds are landscaped and have numerous outdoor living spaces making it perfect for entertaining in any weather.
The separate 4 bay garage is huge and features a full wash down plant outside that sprays under your boat or vehicles. This is all connected to the 90 meter deep bore.
The man of the house already has the smoke house set up and will love living directly across the road (literally) from the boat ramp.
The house has every feature you could think of including a $60,000 solar set up, spa pool, self cleaning oven fireplace with wetback plus two heat pumps, double glazed windows, over sized doors and high ceilings.
This property must be seen to be appreciated and for those looking to live in luxury in the Far North.
These vendors have brought a lifestyle block and are taking a loss on this property.

After nine days, Benny the beagle was found alive and Zane formed a lasting friendship with Benny’s owner, Matt Newman-Hall. “What Zane did is incredible … I find it really amazing that someone was willing to go that far for a complete stranger,” he says.
