AMETI traffic message
Major lane closures are continuing this week on Pakuranga Road and Lagoon Drive as part of AMETI Eastern Busway project work. The lane closurers will affect traffic in both directions and drivers are advised to allow more time for journeys and to talk alternative routes where possible. The project team have been making the most of the quieter holiday period traffic. Lanes will be reopened by 20 January.
As an update, an additional eastbound lane from today (14 January) will ensure longer phasing for right turning vehicles heading from Pakuranga Road into Ti Rakau Drive. This will improve traffic flow for peak hour commuters but drivers are still advised use Waipuna Bridge / South Eastern Highway and other routes where possible. Please take extra time when planning your journey over the next few days. More information and regular updates can be found on the AMETI website.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
