Hi neighbours - a Kerikeri landlord must pay compensation for trying to rent out an illegal former shed with a barrier made from chicken mesh, exposed cables and broken fittings.
They were ordered to pay $3800 to tenant Taana Rihari, who considered the premise so unsafe he refused to live in it with his family. Have you ever had a dodgy landlord experience?

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
