Versatile Wraps
We have a lovely wrap mix in stock that just requires water added. This mix is organic, gluten free and vegan. It is also nut free, dairy free, egg free and soy free. It makes a tasty soft and flexible wrap. The water can be replaced with vegetable juices for different colour and flavour. Spices such as cummin, or herbs such as parsley can be added to the mix for extra flavour as well. Once cooked, the wraps can be brushed with olive oil and sprinkled with salt then cut into wedges and baked in the oven until crisp for tasty chips. Alternatively, garlic butter can be used instead of oil and salt. I find that it is useful to keep a packet of the wrap mix in the pantry for when unexpected visitors arrive, so that I can produce quick and easy food that meets all dietary requirements.
Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
