Severe weather warning - strong winds expected
A deepening low pressure system over the Tasman Sea is forecast to move southeast across the North Island during Wednesday, then move away to the southeast of New Zealand early Thursday.
Area: Wellington and Marlborough Sounds
Valid: 9 hours from 4:00pm Wednesday to 1:00am Thursday
Forecast: Severe southerly gales gusting 120 km/h in exposed places.
Changes: Watch has been upgraded to a Warning.
Area: Wairarapa including the Tararua District
Valid: 11 hours from 2:00pm Wednesday to 1:00am Thursday
Forecast: Rain accumulation may approach Warning criteria.
