Chestnut Picking
Chestnut pickers wanted for approximately 5 weeks starting around 14 March.
Chestnuts are gathered from the orchard floor for export or local markets.
Peaceful environment. Shoes needed. Hat, gloves, and drink bottle optional.
Arrive and leave anytime from 7am to 7pm. Some find that 3 - 4 hours is enough.
The location is at 243 Stanley Road South (near the Holiday Park).
Car park provided. Follow the signs. Buckets and bags available onsite.

Vandalism is costing ratepayers - what can be done to better protect our public spaces?
Vandals have repeatedly damaged public amenities across the Waikato District, leaving ratepayers to pick up the bill. So far in 2025, the cost has climbed to nearly $123,000, reports the Waikato Times.
The council is urging residents to report vandalism as soon as possible.
