The opening evening will commence with entertainment from 7pm to 8.30pm when the lights will be switched on. This year we will be passing our donation on to 3 local families and one slightly out of the area. Although this year has been difficult for everyone we ask that you start putting aside from now until you visit, coins towards your donation, so that we have a real 'bounty' to devide between these well deserving families. (They have no idea that this is to happen). I am also asking if anyone has a spare hour or two I need to take out all the christmas houses and fairground in the Christmas cabin as we didn't have our Lights event last December, so they need checking, dusting down and re arranging to make room for 20 more. Ill thank you in advance. Most of you know us by now, phone number for a text 021 204 2633. or answer on here... One more thing does anyone have 3 tame sheep, a donkey and an alpaka. If you do pm me and I will explain. Thank you again. Keep safe everyone.

Five out of 10 public holidays will be Mondayised (or Tuesdayised in one case) next year, which means if you work a standard Monday to Friday week, you can look forward to some extended breaks.

In fact, once you’ve tacked on the weekends, you’ll end up getting a whopping 25 days off out of those 10 stat days, plus your region’s anniversary day.

Some supernatural help has been hired in the hope customers and staff at the Resene shop in Cambridge will one day be able to see their favourite furry face again.

Timmy, a handsome 4-year-old tabby, disappeared one weekend in August from his cat house at the rear of the premises. Customer Paul Norfolk and wife Gloria had looked all over town for their favourite store cat, along with the shop’s manager, Kerry Mason, and her staff.

“Timmy is such an icon around Cambridge, everyone knows him as the Resene cat,” Gloria said.
