Our skies have been coloured by smoke blown over from the Australian bushfires, meanwhile Wellingtonians are just stoked if they get to see the sun.

How has your summer been?

Not only does this appeal bring in the love and respect for the memory of Grace and her family, but it is bringing awareness to so many people, it is showing the love for each other and support in so many ways, and here in Te Aroha under The Mountain of love the 'Love Grace Handbag Appeal' has begun and today, 22nd February is a time also called 'Thinking Day" for the Girl Guide movement, when we think not of ourselves but girls and boys all over the world, what better time for us all to be aware of others no matter what age and what culture and to be part of this 'on going appeal' not just a memorial but a chain of love. Photo of just a few of our Te Aroha people helping with our Handbag collection.

Hi neighbours! At Cooper's Pet Kitchen our food is free of cheap fillers like grains, corn, soy & wheat... but what does that really mean?

It means there’s more protein-packed nutrition in every bite. We’re big believers in quality over quantity so while our food may be a little more expensive than some, its nutrient density makes for smaller portions with more readily absorbable nutrients.

Get more bang for your dog’s bite with 50% OFF your first order with code NEIGHBOURLY.

This also means a decrease in what comes out the other end... less 'picking up' what they’re 'putting down' at the dog park if you catch our drift.

In December 2018 Grace Millane was travelling New Zealand when she was tragically murdered on the eve of her 22nd birthday.
‘Love Grace’ is a charitable campaign set up in the UK by Grace’s family, combining her love of handbags with a legacy carried out in her name to end violence towards women.

The ‘Love Grace’ handbag appeal asks for donations of handbags filled with toiletries, luxury items and other essentials that will help women in need get to a safer future.

The Project will be coordinating the New Zealand arm of the appeal, working with Women's Refuge to make sure these end up in the hands of women here who need them most.Find a nice, clean handbag about 30cm in size (new or as-new)

Fill it with basic necessities and a couple of extra/luxury items from the below lists.

Optional: Take a photo of your handbag and post it on Instagram with the hashtag #LoveGraceNZ to encourage others to join in. In Te Aroha the For-get-me-not op shop has sorted handbags at the ready and all you have to do is pop in and then kindly fill one. Your drop off point is The Living Museum 109c Centennial Ave. Te Aroha 021 204 2633.. or if unable to deliver they will collect from you. Please share this amongst your family and friends and visit the TV3 website for further details. Thank you Angela and Bill Thompson.
