Sensible budgeting

Rani Timoti from Helensville Citizens Advice Bureau

Do you need some financial advice?
A new budgeting service now operates from the Citizens Advice Bureau in Helensville.
Visitors can book an appointment with an experienced budgeter who has spent 22 years in the fields of consumer affairs and employment issues plus working in finance and mediation.
The service adds to the traditional information supplied in Helensville and across the network of New Zealand CABs.
Karen Rutherford, CAB Helensville office manager, says this is a great boost to what volunteers currently offer.
“Experience shows us that the skills coming on board with this new initiative will be sought after and appreciated.”
“The benefit to the wider community will be a greater degree of public awareness about the difference sensible budgeting can make to families or individuals- on low incomes in particular.”
The Helensville CAB is always on the lookout for volunteers wanting to give a little of their time and expertise to their community. Full training is given and a friendly team atmosphere is assured. Contact Karen Rutherford by email manager.helensville@cab.org.nz or phone 09 420 7162.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
