Blue Moon Butterfly

Di from Nawton

We were amazed to see a black & white butterfly on our camellia hedge today! We took numerous photos as it flitted around then stopped to sip nectar & to spread its wings in the sun. Beautiful, we are so blessed to see this rare beauty; they are said to only arrive here on the wind from Australia, & do not breed here. This one was in perfect condition, hard to believe that it would have been blown right across the Tasman! I would post photos if I knew how!

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.

Have you been to Hamilton Gardens lately?

Libby Totton Reporter from Waikato Times

Hamilton will soon offer a portal to a medieval ‘hospital’, without the stress of the bubonic plague.

The Medieval Gardens will open next year at Hamilton Gardens, with much of the work already done.
