Employment rights
“I think I’m being treated unfairly at work but I’m scared to raise it. How can I sort it out?”
Having a written employment agreement is the law. Even if you don’t have one, there are some minimum employment rights that everyone is entitled to.
Come and talk to our friendly folk at the Citizens Advice Bureau or CAB. We will be able to help you know what your rights are and what to do if they aren’t being met.
Our Helensville CAB has a community window display which profiles different events and activities within our organisation and for our local groups.
Employment rights are a focus this month in our community window display.
We are part of national bureaux of CABs and provide a free and independent service. Visit our website www.cab.org.nz... or free-phone from your landline or mobile Citizens Advice Bureau: 0800 367 222 or 0800 F O R C A B or pop into our Helensville office on the main street- everyone knows us!

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
