Five generations celebrated.

The recent arrival of Riley Ford has has made it five generations in a row for his family who have long established current and former Upper Hutt associations. Pictured from left are Nola Bircham, [Riley's great-great-grandmother], Lynda Nicolle [great-grandmother] mum Amy Austin [holding Riley] and new grandmother Catherine Austin. "Three weeks ago my daughter gave birth to our first grandchild who has become the fifth generation member of our family,' Catherine Austin said. "My mum and my 91-year-old Nana came down from Hawke's Bay so we could celebrate a family event as well as get a photo of our five generations all together. It weas a special day," Austin said.

Poll: Would you participate in local initiatives aimed at stopping plastic from reaching our oceans?

Volunteers will be scouring the foreshore, riverbanks, and islands for rubbish on Saturday the 13th as part of the Clean Up the Hutt event.

This initiative helps stop plastic from reaching our oceans and makes our waterways cleaner and safer for everyone.
