Torbay Christmas Light Show
Thank you to the hundreds of people from across Auckland city that came to our Christmas Light Show in Killarney Ave Torbay. You kind folk helped us to raise $3878.00 for Starship...wow! So many wonderful comments made by you and we enjoyed enriching so many individuals. I take little credit as this was all our sons doing as he is an A. V. lighting tech. It was a mammoth undertaking by him that took six weeks to assemble and two days to derig with a team of willing helpers, collectors, and Santa [even if he was a Kiwi Santa wearing jandels]. Thank you to the choir that sang for us on the the Sunday night, to the band that performed prior to Christmas Eve and to our neighbours whom participated. Thanks go to my friends Greg and Natalie that kindly displayed their Kitt Car from the Knight Rider
T V series- it really made the show! I listened to numerous parents [from all over the world] explaining to bemused children what this meant to them when they were growing up. The house made it onto two stories on One News and the web version had over 68,000 views by the end of the second day! Well as I said this has been a huge task but now the lights have been packed away into our loft and a truck load of gear has gone back to A. V. Events Ltd Thanks to Scott from A V for the loan of their LED feature lights and control units. We are all a wee bit tried now after nearly two weeks of late nights but it was worth it and we will see you at the next show.
