Christmas parade and Lights.
Just a quick thank you to all the people who on such a hot day, put so much hard work into making the parade run like clockwork again. Not sure how many floats this year, but someone reading this will know I am sure. The weather was made for it and there was such a huge crowd. Having put in a float again this year in the 'Theme' category Cinderella, we know just hoe much effort goes into supporting the community by entering a float, in our case there were 5 vehicles with trailers to decorate and the horse and carriage completing our Cinderella story. The fairy Godmothers float with the pumpkin and mouse, ( the mouse turning into the footman in the story) took over 3 hours with 3 of us just unravelling a black sack of silver beads and laying them out as a floor, and the rest over a good few weeks. Its always a buzz, and then the 'b' goes out of the buzz, when everything has to be taken off. We've shared a great BBQ with everyone who helped, some coming from Auckland and our Victoria Coach, owner John, came all the way from Te Awamutu. Now its time to go into the garden and wait for YOU ALL to visit to see the Christmas displays that we have in the garden for our Charity collection, being shared between to families who have sick children. So, finish up your tea, and get yourselves to 109c centennial Avenue between 8.30pm and 10.30pm and visit our Santa grotto and our magical garden. Happy Christmas everyone, and thanks again, for all of you who helped by supporting the community of Te Aroha in todays Santa parade.

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
