My 2025 Prospa Local Business Hero nomination
Catnap Cafe in Christchurch.
They take in resuce cats from Cat Rescue and help them find homes. They have rehomed nearly 200 cats. It's runned and owned by a beautiful young couple Nate and Alyssa. They have a couple of resident cats there as well as many cats and kittens looking for their forever homes. They take in many special need cats and give them a second chance they wouldn't normally get. We have actually adopted one of their old resident cats who was over the cafe life, unfortunatley he did escape after a couple weeks of having him and Nate and Alyssa took time out to come help search for him. He did come home after 15 days thankfully. Catnap has the best atomsphere and most beautiful staff. They have the kindest hearts and I truly think they deserve this as they are true heros, finding cats and kittens their forever homes, completing families and all for their love of the felines. Attached is our beautiful short legged little Bobby that we adopted from Catnap that has made our family complete thanks to Catnap Cafe

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
