Whangarei Film Society - screenings for Tuesday March 12th

Geoff from Central Whangarei

Good People

NEWS JUST IN - we have just been notified by our film distributor that they can't supply us with a copy of the film, The Crime is Mine for screening tomorrow night.

WFS apologies for the mix up. But we will be screening the film at a later date.

So instead, on TUESDAY, the 12th March (Not Thursday) at 6pm WFS will be screening the French Drama/Mystery, Paris Memories.

Our 8pm screening will be the UK comedy, Scrapper.

Paris Memories
France (English subtitles) Drama/Mystery
2023, Rated M (Violence), 105 mins
Cast: Virginie Efira, Benoît Magimel, Grégoire Colin, Maya Sansa, Amadou Mbow. Director: Alice Winocour

Russian translator, Mia spends her waking moments trying to piece together the events of the night she survived a terrorist attack in a Paris bistro three months earlier.

Her efforts see her regularly revisit the scene in an effort to make sense of her fractured memories and get to the truth.

In doing so, Mia finds other survivors trying to do the same, along with family members of people who were killed who are also trying to understand what happened. They offer support and comfort to each other as they attempt to uncover the truth.

But Mia's obsession with getting closure consumes her and begins to cause stress in her relationships and her marriage.

Brilliantly details the personal impact of a near-death experience and the resilience required to pick yourself up and sort through the debris.
