DHL Email SCAM in circulation

Dee from Muzz IT

DHL false email in circulation,, please be aware its malware!

We have received an email that looks like its from DHL express NZ, but in actual fact when you view the email address ,its actually from a personal email address not a DHL email address, plus I guess when you think about it, how would they know your email address to send you a email in regards to your new shipment is waiting for you.

We have called DHL in NZ and have got confirmation from them over the phone and on their website, this email is NOT from them, they are warning their customers to NOT open or click on the link provided in the email, as this may contain malware or a virus.

Please notify all of your friends and family on this false email that is in circulation.

Some tips to remember:

- Always keep your Internet Security up to date
- Run a regular scan on your device for malware, such as Malware Bytes (there are free versions also as paid)
- Always double check the email contents before you click on any links, eg formatting, grammar and the senders address can sometimes be a giveaway if its false
- Always double check with the company before opening any attachments. EG do you always receive your invoices via email. or bank statements via email from that company, if not and you click on this button that says click here or view your statement here, this can be malware software, it can be used to track all of your keystrokes, so yes the website may look original after you have clicked on the button, say for instance as the ANZ statement malware going around, but IF you enter in your info on that website that has loaded, the creator is capturing all of your user names and passwords, yes you may get your statement or a copy of one, but they have and will continue to track all of your keystrokes until the malware is removed.

Please be aware of all the false emails in circulation and be mindful of what you click in. We have a rule of thumb, if we receive any emails wit attachments are not expecting, we go the original website and log in that way, in a different browser is advised, so that the malware cant install itself.

Please remember this information is sourced and is considered to be correct at time of publication by Muzz IT.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
