Stray Male dog - Rusty's owner found
Great to receive contact with Rusty's owner through the trade me post. He's home safe.
Apparently this dog strays frequently - this is known behaviour. Yet there was no dog registration tag, no ID tag. These would help enormously in the future, especially knowing he is a regular houdini.
I didn't call the pound as I understand the cost involved. But I think perhaps this would be a consideration if this behaviour continued to occur. I spent several hours in the lead up to Christmas trying to track the owner down (when there were many other things I would have preferred to spend my time doing).
An ID tag with contact details on his lovely new collar would have saved a lot of time and stress for all involved.
Securing the back yard would be something a responsible dog owner would provide given this gorgeous boy's propensity for wandering.
Hi
... is this your dog. He's camping out under my deck because my wee girl is in heat. The poor love sick boy is pining away and needs to be collected as soon as possible. I won't feed him but he has shelter from the sun under the deck and I've made sure he has water to drink.
Please call me on 0274 425 524 to get an address to collect him from

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
