Power Prices

Martin from Stanmore Bay

Im over power companies ripping us off. Each year they increase the price. My power has gone up at least 20% in the last two years. And they get you by the balls by saying lock it in for two years as it will go up. We are using less power than we did the same period last year , yes less Kwh and yet our bill is now $60 more expensive. Where is the control, where is the commerce commission this is just bulls**t. And whats worse the government says switch power companies to save money 60-140 a year isnt a saving , thats not even a flat white a week. There is no competition out there and they know it. I would go solar but thats not very affordable. Compared to other countries solar is expensive. Other countries subsidize solar. Our government couldn't give a rats arse.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
