How to create a safe haven for your pets
A carpeted garage is a great little safe place for your pets to hang out either over night or during the day if you're out and about. The garage is warm, dry and they cannot damage the carpet if they have an accident.
Ensure they have access to fresh water ( 2 bowls are ideal in case they tip one over) and for cats please ensure they have access to a litter tray. The general rule is 2 litter trays per cat. This gives them a back up option when the other one is full.
This also decreases the likelihood of any toilet "mishaps"on your garage carpet.
If your dog is being kept in the garage but not in a crate, please ensure they do not have access to any plugged in power leads or any chemicals.
Your pets will love you for it!

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
