Flooding on Ava Street
⚠Burst pressure culvert - Ava Street, Petone Update⚠
Our team have responded to a burst pressure culvert at Ava Street, Petone. This is the cause of the flooding in Ava Street, Byron Street and around into Cuba Street.
Our crew are on site to set up temporary repairs to contain the flow. The flooding is stable at the moment but we are monitoring it closely.
Traffic Management is in place to reduce the speed of traffic travelling through the flood water on the road. We advise people to avoid the area wherever possible.
Further updates will be provided throughout the evening.
Thank you for your patience and we apologise for the inconvenience.

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
