On Sun 28 Oct we're opening a 1.4km route between Victoria Street, Hunter Street and Jessie Street for Te Ara Tapere ki Pōneke (Open Streets in Wellington). There'll be fun activities by Boomerang Bags Wellington, Sustainability Trust, Love Food Hate Waste - New Zealand and lots more. Come along to experience your city in a new way and have fun on streets that are closed to cars. For more info click here.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
